The Root of All Evil

The world is black and white, there is no "gray" area. As a result of this black and white world, we as human beings easily accept the idea of fantasy because it is much more pleasing to live in a "dream world" than live in the reality of a "black and white" world.

It's easier to accept that Oswald acted alone rather than face the reality of what really happened. It's easier to accept that terrorist with boxcutters caused 9/11 than face the reality of what really happened. And with religion, it's easier to accept the notion of an all powerful being than face the reality of knowing that we are all in this world ON OUR OWN!

Richard Dawkins is a Professor at Oxford and a confirmed aetheist. He doesn't come out and say it but the message of this documentary is basically that all religions are the same. A religion is a belief based on a story that has been repeated over and over again until people accept it as truth.

GO here to check out this BBC special: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3.

Part two is the best part. Of the religions discussed, the only guy to get defensive is the Christian guy! Go figure?
